A rarely seen extra large antique circa early 1900s copper lidded roasting or braising pan with tin lining and brass handle made by Joseph Heinrichs for the iconic Vanderbilt Hotel in New York City. Joseph Heinrichs made and sold very high quality cookware through such well regarded retailers as Tiffany & Co, and directly to many of the finest restaurants and hotels from 1897-1937... In the past we have had Joseph Heinrichs pieces from the Waldorf Astoria, The Plaza, and a number of other fine restaurants and hotels.

Beautifully made, in excellent condition for its age, lots of small surface marks, bumps and scratches to the copper but no major dents or damage. The pan has been fully restored with new tin and polished inside and out. One or two small bumps to the base, a little out of round but still sits quite flat with minimal movement. The Vanderbilt Hotel stamp is still easily read, but the Heinrichs mark is nearly worn away. A stunning piece of copper cookware, the largest oval dish Jos. Heinrichs offered!

Measures 13” in width, 22” long including handles, just shy of 3.75” deep. Weighs nearly 11 pounds with 1.5mm thick walls.
