2026 NYIOOC GOLD MEDAL WINNER
Single-estate Portuguese extra virgin olive oil. The boldest oil in the 2026 collection and a 2026 NYIOOC Gold Medal winner. Grown under the intense Alentejo sun, Forte is made from Coreana, a rare olive varietal, delivering concentrated fruit, herbal depth, and a persistent peppery finish. Super high in polyphenols, this year's edition is packed with antioxidants you can taste.
PRODUCER Forte comes from Virgulino Neves in Alentejo, Portugal. For 18 years he's been defying expectations on land once deemed too rocky for olives. His trees tap hidden aquifers beneath the stone, yielding oil that's become a standout in a region famous for its groves since Roman times. A true experimenter, he is constantly testing new varietals and presses within hours of harvest at his on-site mill.
