A beautiful antique circa 1880s solid sterling silver fountain pen tray with beautiful floral repousse decoration, made by Tiffany and Company! Engraved in the front center with the initials R. B. de F. and an armorial stag, which can be traced back to the de Forest family of New York. The only initials in the family that would match this engraving belong to George Beach de Forest Jr., a prominent philanthropist, bibliophile, and art collector in New York City during the Gilded Age. 

In excellent condition for its age, no dents or damage, just small signs of use and light surface marks from polishing. Marked on the back with full Tiffany & Co marks for sterling silver, with pattern no. 8216 (first produced in 1884), and the M indicating it was created 1873-1891 under the directorship of Edward Moore. Measures approximately 10.5 inches long by 3.5 inches wide, weight of approximately 201 gram.
