A stunning and rare antique circa late 1800s to early 1900s heavy silver plated mechanical wine decanter/pourer! This would have been quite a presentation piece, use to gently and carefully pour wine and reduce sediment, there is a carrying handle so this piece probably would have been presented at your table in a hotel or fine restaurant with a flourish. 

In amazing condition for its age, no dents or damage, every original piece and part is still present and in perfect working order! It has polished up beautifully with only very minor wear to the silverplating on the threads of the mechanical device. This will support nearly any size bottle of wine or champagne, save for the largest of magnums, you simply place the bottle in the cradle and use the silver ring attached with a chain to lock around the neck and secure it in place. Then you turn the wheel at the back to raise or lower the bottle to pour. What a showpiece! Made by Reed & Barton of heavy, hotel weight silver plate.

Measures approximately 14 inches long by 14 inches tall with the handle up, by about 8 inches wide. This heavy, well-made piece weighs weighs nearly 4.5 pounds empty!
