A stunning and rare antique circa early 1900s heavy silver plated mechanical wine or port decanter/pourer, made by Societé d’Orfèvrerie Hotelière for the iconic restaurant Maxim's de Paris! This would have been quite a presentation piece, used to gently and carefully pour wine and reduce sediment, there is a carrying handle so this piece probably would have been presented at your table with a flourish. 

In amazing condition for its age, no dents or damage, every original piece and part is still present and in perfect working order! This will support nearly any standard size bottle of wine or port (not chunky champagne bottles), you simply place the bottle in the cradle then you turn the crank at the back to raise or lower the bottle to pour. What a showpiece! Made by SOH Societé d’Orfèvrerie Hotelière, makers of some of the finest silver for French hotels, restaurants, and even the French Navy. Marked with Maxim's logo on the top of the base, and underneath with SOH marks.

Measures approximately 16 inches long by 14 inches tall with the handle up, by about 8.5 inches wide. This heavy, well-made piece weighs weighs nearly 4.5 pounds empty!
