A stunning antique circa early 1900s heavy copper stock pot, with tin lining and riveted brass handles, made by Lefèvre Frères. Lefèvre Frères in Villedieu-les-Poêles is a legendary French coppersmith known for supplying the thickest hammered copper to Europe’s finest hotel, restaurants, and the famous Wagons-Lits railway dining cars.

This is a beautiful handcrafted piece, made to last generations. The copper is nice and heavy, at the rim it is around 2.8-3mm. There are plenty of marks and bumps to the outside, the usual signs of use as to be expected from a piece that was used in a commercial environment for decades. The brass handles are sturdy and well-connected. There are numerous bumps and one old repair to the base, these were hammered out as well as they could be but there is still some unevenness in the corners. Despite this, the pan does sit flat on our gas stove, though there might be a tiny wobble on a perfectly flat surface such as glass. The pan has been professionally polished and re-tinned and is ready for use! The pan has been stamped “WL” on the front and on the side right above the Lefèvre Frères makers mark, and in addition has a stamp above one handle that reads "cuisine –centrale."

Measures approximately 14” across the top opening, 17” across the handles, by 9.5" tall. 2.8-3mm width at the lip. Weighs nearly 17.5 lbs!
