A beautiful antique circa 1850s French copper saute pan with iron handle, completely restored with new hand applied tin. This is one of the oldest hotel pans we've come across, the age is evident from the handle, which is wrought iron rather than cast. You can see the pull/stretch marks in the iron handle, it was been cut by hand into a rat tail loop at the top, with the flatness you would expect from early wrought iron handles. It is quite a lovely piece of French hotel history! Marked on one side "Hotel de la Pomme D'Or Gey"

In remarkable condition for piece of copper cookware over 170 years old, some signs of age and use from a commercial kitchen, small marks and bumps but no dents. It sits flat on our gas range, but there might be a very slight wobble on an extremely flat cooking surface such as glass.

Measures about 13” wide across the top, 3.25” deep, and 24” long including handle. Approximately 2.4mm-3mm thickness at the rim depending where you measure, this is a very old pan that seen a lot of use, had a lot of utensils and other pots bang against the rim over the years, so some areas of the rim are thicker than others. The last photo is a “before” picture of this pan, before it was restored by our workshop.
