Antique Copper Champagne Cooler from SS Boston - White Star Line

$1,250.00
Current stock: 0 SOLD OUT

A fantastic antique circa 1908 to 1911 copper and brass four bottle champagne/wine cooler with central lidded ice compartment from the Steamship Boston, sailing for the White Star Line. In fantastic condition for its age, no major dents or damage, but there are lots of small marks and signs of use. A lovely patina to the copper, it has polished up a bit but I’ve left some of the patina. It will polish to a perfect high shine if desired. Stamped "White Star" and "SS Boston".

Measures 12.5” wide by 12.5” deep by 9.5” tall.

SS Boston was launched by Yarmouth Steamship Company from Glasgow to Yarmouth (USA) in 1890. In 1902 the International Mercantile Marine Company purchased the shares of several shipping companies, which included the Dominion Line and White Star Line. From 1908 IMMC operated a service under the name "White Star-Dominion Line” using the Dominion steamships (one of which was SS Boston). In 1911 SS Boston was sold to Canadian Pacific. This timeline helps date this cooler between 1908 and 1911.
