An antique c. 1927 heavy silver plate champagne cooler/bucket from the Biltmore Hotel in Santa Barbara, California, with handle and attached underplate. It has been years since we’ve seen one of the old Biltmore champagne buckets in this style, and this is certainly the nicest condition we’ve ever seen one in. What a beauty!
This piece is in excellent condition for its age, no dents or damage but there are some of the little bumps and marks that you would expect from old hotel silver. It has polished up beautifully with some wear inside due to standing water over the years. Marked underneath as made by Gorham for The Santa Barbara Biltmore in 1927. This bucket is large enough for even the largest bottle of champagne.
Measures approximately 15 inches tall with handle up by 11 inches wide at the base, the opening is 9 inches wide.
