An antique circa 1886 horn whisky/spirit cup with sterling silver rim and cartouche. The sterling silver is fully hallmarked for Birmingham assayed in 1885. Excellent condition, no damage to the horn, just a few small bumps and signs of age/use to the sterling. The rim is engraved to serve as a trophy "1/4 mile handicap hurdle race" and the cartouche is engraved with an are memorial design, the initials of an athletic club, and the year 1886.

This substantial cup measures nearly 6 inches tall.
