A stunning antique victorian era circa 1880s silver plated dinner gong atop an oak base with mallet, silver metal and bovine horn uprights, each marked with a design registry number indicating this design was first produced in the year 1886.
This piece is in excellent condition for its age, no cracks or damage to the horn and the oak has a beautiful antique patina. There is plenty of age and wear to the surfaces, but no damage or signs of old repairs, though originally this gong probably would’ve been held with leather so the current string (though pretty old itself) may be a replacement. The gong still works and sounds beautiful!
Measures approximately 12 inches tall by 12 inches long across the base by 5.5 inches deep.
