A beautiful vintage circa 1950s heavy silver plated tip or bill tray from the Ahwahnee Hotel, a grand resort hotel in Yosemite national Park, California! The lobby of this hotel may look very familiar to horror movie fans, it was the inspiration for the interior scenes of Stanley Kubrick‘s classic film “The Shining.”
Though initially intended for presenting a bill or leaving a tip, this little tray would be perfect as a wine bottle drip catcher or as a catchall for keys, change, jewelry, etc.
In excellent condition, it does have lots of light surface marks and scratches, as frequently seen in old hotel silver that was used daily. No large dents or damage though, it has polished up beautifully! The hotel name is marked on the base along with International Silver Co. makers marks.
Measures slightly under 6.5” across.
