An extremely tiny and rare antique English circa 1900 sterling silver and agate match striker. In excellent antique condition, the sterling rim was marked with full English hallmarks for sterling silver assayed in Birmingham in the year 1900. There are a few slight marks to the Sterling rim, but it is without damage, and the agate has lots of natural character but no cracks/chips. The striker is crosshatched on the bottom to create a striking surface.
Measures approx. 1.25” tall by 1.5” wide. Ultra rare to find a striker in this small size, I’ve been collecting them for 20+ years, and we’ve only come across one or two others.
This tiny little striker was part of a travel smoking set, and it only holds pocket sized matches which are the strike anywhere matches that are sold in 32 count boxes, not the larger match is sold in 300 count boxes. If you’re ok with ground shipping that takes a little longer we can include some of the matches (we cannot ship them via priority or internationally though). The first picture shows this striker with three “regular” sized strikers and matches.
