A massive antique circa 1850s copper and brass water pot with nozzle from the famous Reform Club in London, England. Started as a private gentleman’s club, since its founding in 1836 the Reform Club has been the traditional home for those committed to progressive political ideas.

This pot is in good but not excellent condition for its age, no major dents or damage but lots & lots of small marks, scratches and dings. The handles are at different angles and one is brass while one is bronze, leading me to believe that one is a replacement, they are both however of the same age and the replacement/repair was done expertly. There is a lid present, but it is unmarked and may not be original to the piece, over the years both the pot and lid have been bumped slightly out of round so the lid does sits on top of the pot nicely but does not fit tightly inside the rim. The original brass spout is present, but is frozen in the closed position. The pot is water tight and can be used, but the spout itself is just decorative unless it can be replaced or repaired by a professional.

The pot is stamped "Reform Club" on front, as well as the maker's mark "Wilson & Son, late Baron & Wilson- Strand King Williams Street"

Measures 16” by 16” not including handles, nearly 21" wide including handles, approx 1.7mm walls, weighs nearly 38 pounds empty!
