A rare circa early 1900s copper pot with lid, lined with silver (rather than the usual tin) by renowned French silversmith Christofle, from the Grand Hotel Victoria in San Bernardino, Switzerland. In good condition for a hotel piece of its age, no dents or damage to the pot, one bump to the lid which causes a slight gap at one end. The brass handles are still firmly attached, the silver lining is almost completely intact with just a few tiny spots of wear.
Measures a bit over 8” long not including handles, by 5.5” wide and 4.5” deep. 1.8mm thick at the rim, much thicker at the base. Weighs 2.2pounds.
