A stunning and rare antique circa late 1800s Tiffany & Co. figural sterling silver sardine tong. In excellent condition, no damage or signs of old repairs, just the smallest signs of use and age. R monogram. Marked inside for Tiffany and Co. and sterling silver. Also marked with the M date that that corresponds to production between 1873 ~ 1891 under the directorship of Edward Moore. Measures approximately 3 inches long, these tongs were made to serve small sardines from the tin or a sardine box.
