A wonderful and unique little piece of New York theater history; this antique circa very early 1900s silver plated tea pot is from Faust’s restaurant and the Majestic Theater, both located on Columbus Circle at 59th and Broadway in New York City!
The teapot is engraved on the front “Faust 59th & B’way” then stamped on the bottom Hotel Majestic. Interestingly, there was a very opulent and well known Hotel Majestic in New York City at the time, but it was on the Upper West Side, not on Columbus Circle. The Majestic Theater was located at 59th and Broadway on the circle, which leads me to believe perhaps the theater had rooms to rent at one time and re-purposed this teapot from the Faust restaurant.
In excellent condition, no large dents or damage, just a couple small bumps and signs of use/age. The original wooden insulators in the handle are still present and securely attached. Measures approximately 4.25 inches tall by nearly 7 inches long from spout to handle.
