A beautiful antique circa late 1800s heavy silver plated water pitcher from the long forgotten Hotel Madison in New York City! Located at Madison Avenue and 58th, the Hotel Madison was a popular destination for a well heeled travelers until it fell on hard times in the 1920s and the building was demolished in the 30s. This pitcher is in excellent condition for its age, no large dents or damage, just small marks, bumps and signs of use you would expect from hotel silver that is 120+ years old. There is a little bit of unevenness to the base that causes a slight wobble when you push on it, but the pitcher stands straight and still presents beautifully. The original hinged lid is still present. Measures approximately 10 inches tall.
The final photo is an old picture of the hotel I was able to track down in the New York public library photo collection, it’s presented for historical purposes only and is not included with your purchase.
