A beautiful service for 6 of antique circa 1900-1910s silverplated flatware from a Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits dining car.
This set is nice, heavy hotel quality and each piece has an intertwined WL monogram on one side of the of the handle, which is the logo for Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. Wagons-Lits was known for the finest railroad dining & sleeping cars, but most famously for being the creator and operator of the Orient Express luxury passenger train.
In excellent condition, no breakage or damage, just the usual small marks, bumps, and signs of use you would expect from old railroad silver that is over 100 years old and was used daily in a commercial environment. The pieces have very minor tarnish that will polish up beautifully with only slight wear on some of the raised edges. The pieces are all of the same pattern, but are from various makers including Christofle, Ercuis, and Krupp-Berndorf.
The set consists of 18 pieces; 6 forks, 6 tablespoons, and 6 dinner knives.
