A wonderful antique circa 1910-20s heavy Silver Plated bread or roll serving basket from the private Algonquin Club in Boston. The Algonquin Club of Boston, now known as The 'Quin House, is a private social club in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1886. Originally a business-themed gentlemen's club, it is now open to men and women of all races, religions, and nationalities. Its clubhouse on Commonwealth Avenue was designed by McKim, Mead & White and completed in 1888, and was soon called "the finest and most perfectly appointed club-house in America" and more recently the "most grandiose" of Boston's clubs. It remains the only old-guard Boston club with a purpose-built clubhouse.
In great condition for its age, no large dents or damage, just some small utensil marks, scratches and signs of use. Very mild tarnish that will polish up perfectly if desired! Double marked on the top with their AC monogram. Measures approximately 10.5 inches long by 6.5 inches wide.
