A beautiful antique circa 1920s heavy silver plated ice bucket with handle made for one of the Southern Railway grand hotels! There were a number of grand railway hotels around the turn of the last century, and unfortunately none of them are left standing today. The final photo in the listing is the Gilsey House hotel in New York City, where Southern Railway had their offices around the time this bucket would have been made, its included just for historical context. Unfortunately, there’s no way to know exactly which hotel this ice bucket came from.

This piece is in excellent condition for its age, no dents or damage, just the usual small marks, scratches and signs of use you would expect from old hotel silver that was used daily. It has polished up beautifully! Marked on the front with the Southetn Railway SR insignia and the words Grand Hotel, no maker’s mark.

Measures approximately 5 inches tall not including the handle (7.75 inches to the top of the handle) by 5 inches wide across the top.
