A lovely late 19th Century lidded copper pan with iron handles and tinned interior. In excellent condition for its age, no major dents or damage/needed repairs, just the kinds of small marks and signs of use you’d expect from old copper that is about 150+ years old. Beautiful dovetailed construction. This pot and lid were in rough shape when we first came across them, and were covered with both paint and an old lacquer. We stripped the lacquer before polishing the piece but left much of the old, worn finish on the handles, because we believe it gave them a unique and lovely antique patina. Made by J. Y. Watkins & Son, located at 16 Catherine street in NYC.
Measures approximately 18 inches long along the handle by 8.25 wide across the body of the pot by 5.5 inches deep. 1.8-2mm thickness at the rim.
