A wonderful antique circa early 1900s copper gratin or roasting pan with sterling silver lining made by Joseph Heinrichs. Joseph Heinrichs made and sold very high quality cookware through such well regarded retailers as Tiffany & Co, and directly to many of the finest restaurants and hotels from 1897-1937... In the past we have had Joseph Heinrichs pieces from the Waldorf Astoria, The Plaza, and a number of other fine restaurants and hotels. This particular pan was made for the Netherland Hotel, precursor to the Sherry-Netherland Hotel in New York City.
Beautifully made, in amazing condition for its age, small surface marks and scratches to the copper but no dents or damage, it sits flat. The pan has been polished inside and out; the sterling lining is in excellent condition with a couple teeny pinpoint dark marks. One or two small pinpoint bumps, but still excellent symmetry and sits flat. A stunning piece of copper and sterling cookware!
Measures 17” in length including handles; 9” wide; 2” deep. Weighs 3 pounds 3 ounces with ~2mm thick walls.
