A stunning antique circa early 1900s Copper pan with iron handle and tin lining made by Joseph Heinrichs for Restaurant Mayan. The restaurant Mayan was located in Rockefeller Center in New York City. Joseph Heinrichs made and sold very high quality cookware through such well regarded retailers as Tiffany & Co, and directly to many of the finest restaurants and hotels from 1897-1937... In the past we have had Joseph Heinrichs pieces from the Waldorf Astoria, The Plaza, and a number of other fine restaurants and hotels.
Beautifully made with two strong copper rivets attaching an iron handle. The copper body of the pot is marked with the maker’s and restaurant’s name, though they're both a bit faded and have been overtsamped by some long ago re-tinner in NYC. In amazing condition for its age, small surface marks and scratches from restaurant use but no dents or damage, it sits flat and the handle is still sturdily attached. It has been polished and newly tinned, and is ready for use!
This sauté pan is 9” diameter at the lip, 6.5" at the base, not including the iron handle; 2.25” high. This is a heavy, hotel quality pan that weighs nearly 4.5 pounds empty!
