A beautiful antique circa early 1900s French copper Windsor or splayed pot with iron handle from the Hotel Guillaume le Conquérant, completely restored with new hand applied tin. In excellent condition, lots of signs of age and use from a commercial kitchen, small marks and bumps but no big dents. It sits flat on our gas range, but there might be a very slight wobble on an extremely flat cooking surface such as glass.
Stamped with the mark of J Gaillard of Paris, also stamped "G. Conquérant" for the hotel Guillaume le Conquérant (William the Conqueror) in Dives sur Mer, France. We have a number of pieces from this hotel that will be listed over the coming weeks, all made by Gaillard.
PLEASE NOTE: we have a few of these pots in this size and are selling them individually, even though some photos may show more than one pot for comparison. This heavy, hotel-weight piece weighs 2 pounds 10 ounces, with 2.3-2.6mm thickness at upper rim (much thicker at the base). Measures approximately 5.5” wide across the top, 4.5” wide at the base, 2.5” deep, and 11.25” long including handle.
