Antique French Lefèvre Frères Copper Pot from Wagons Lits Dining Car

A stunning antique circa 1890s to very early 1900s heavy copper pot with tin lining and riveted brass handles, made by Lefèvre Frères.

This is a beautiful handcrafted piece, made to last generations. The copper is very heavy, at the rim it is around 2.2-2.6mm, and gets much thicker at the base. There are plenty of marks and bumps to the outside, as to be expected from a piece that was used in a commercial environment for decades. The brass handles are sturdy and well-connected. The pan has been professionally polished and re-tinned and is ready for use! The pan has been stamped “WL” and “A” on the front and one side under handle, which from my research I have found is a mark that is attributed to the Wagons-Lits railroad, operators of luxury sleeping cars on the Oriental express railroad!

Measures 6” across the top opening by 8.25” tall. 2.2-2.6mm width at the lip, thicker at the base. Weighs nearly 8 lbs.
