An antique circa early to mid-1800s French copper daubiere roasting or braising pan with lid. Weighing in at almost 12 pounds, this super-sturdy piece was definitely built to last. The craftsmanship is superb! The pot features dovetail or cramp seams, and both the body and lid have sturdily attached wrought iron handles, the way the handles attach to the body with one side being a little lower and longer is really unique and must be individual to the artisan that made this piece. There is a very deep lid made for holding hot embers/coals.

This antique pan has been cleaned, polished and lined with hand-applied tin. In excellent condition, small surface marks that you would expect from 150+ year old copper cookware, small marks and dings but no damage or structural issues. Sits perfectly flat on our gas stove top and inside the oven, but may have slight movement on a perfectly flat surface like glass. This is a beautiful piece that really shows it’s history!

Measures approximately 11 inches tall to top of handle, 18.5 inches long handle to handle, 14.5 x 8.5 inches inside, weighs about 12 pounds.
