An antique circa late-1800s French copper daubiere roasting or braising pot with removable brass stand. Weighing in at more than 11 pounds, this super-sturdy pot was definitely built to last. The craftsmanship is superb! The pot features dovetail or cramp seams, and both the body and lid have sturdily attached brass handles. There is a very deep lid made for holding hot embers/coals.
This antique pan has been cleaned, polished and lined with hand-applied tin. In excellent condition, small surface marks that you would expect from 150+ year old copper cookware, small marks and dings but no damage or structural issues. This is a beautiful piece that really shows it’s history! This pot came from the estate of the Remy Martin distillery family in France where it was the centerpiece of a fantastic copper collection, it is a wonderful piece of culinary history.
