A small late 19th Century English copper pan with iron handle and newly tinned interior. Marked Midland Cars on the front, this piece comes from the Midland railway and pre-dates their joining several other railways to create the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1923.
In great condition for its age, no dents or major damage, just the kinds of small bumps, marks and signs of use you’d expect from old copper that is about 120+ years old and was used in a commercial setting. No makers or retailers mark, but we have had Midland Railway copper before, and it nearly always has a Benham & Froud mark on the base, so this piece probably came from them as well.
Measures approximately 6 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep by almost 12 inches long along the handle. The walls vary from 1.3 mm to 1.5 mm thick near the rim.
