A stunning antique circa early 1900s heavy copper round roasting pan with tin lining and a riveted iron handle, marked for A. S. Ruslander & Son of Buffalo, New York. Beginning in 1877 as A. S. Ruslander a Buffalo-based hardware and tinsmith shop; the company became known furnishing commercial kitchens and for producing high quality kitchenware and copper pots & pans for hotels, steamships, clubs and restaurants. In 1904 son Levi joined the business and the company name was changed to A. S. Ruslander & Son.
This is a beautiful handcrafted piece, made to last generations. The copper is very heavy, at the rim it is around 2.1-2.4mm. There are small marks to the outside, as to be expected from a piece that was used in a commercial environment for decades, but no signs of old repairs and no dents or damage. The iron handle is sturdy and well-connected. The pan has been polished and re-tinned and is ready for use!
Measures 12.25” across at the rim by 2.75” deep. 2.1-2.4mm width at the rim. Weighs approximately 6 pounds.
