An antique circa 1920s heavy silver plated water pitcher from Longchamps restaurant in New York City. The first Longchamps opened in 1919 at Madison Avenue and 78th Street. Named Longchamps, after the famous Parisian racecourse, the restaurant specialized in offering an American version of French style cuisine at affordable prices. it was a fast success and the chain quickly grew, by the time it was sold in the 1960s there were 12 locations in Manhattan.

In great condition, no large dents or damage but there are lots of small bumps and dings,and the usual signs of use you would expect from nearly 100 year old restaurant silver. Marked with the restaurant name on the front. Mild tarnish on the outside, there are spots of pitting and wear on the inside. Made by Reed & Barton and marked with the date stamp for manufacture in the year 1928. Measures approximately 9" tall
