A wonderful antique circa 1906 Sterling Silver golf trophy cup with deer antler handles. Engraved to read “Warner Prize Awarded to Harry Cook Union College 1906” on the front, and on the back in Latin “Excelleus Virtute et Scieutia Obtinuit" which roughly translates to "with great power and courage." The base also is also engraved to read “Horatio Gates Warner Constituit 1859”.

In excellent condition, no dents or damage, just small signs of age and a tiny/shallow bump along the edge of the base visible when looking closely. The antler handles are without cracks or damage, just slight movement to one due to age-related shrinkage. Marked Sterling on the base.

Measures approximately 5” tall by 9” wide across the handles. Weighs approximately 13.2 ounces.

Union College is located in Schenectady, New York. Harry Cook became a lawyer practicing in Albany, New York, and there is currently a scholarship in his name at Union College.
