A beautiful antique circa 1903 heavy silver plated wine or champagne cooler/bucket from the historic Pacific-Union Club in San Francisco! The Pacific-Union Club is a gentleman’s social club in San Francisco, California, in the Nob Hill neighborhood. It was founded in 1889, as a merger of two earlier clubs: the Pacific Club (founded 1852) and the Union Club (founded 1854). Their clubhouse is the brownstone mansion built as a home for silver magnate James Clair Flood.
Great condition for it's age, no major dents or damage, though there are small bumps and dings on the body. The silver plating is in great condition, there is some wear through to the copper metal underneath on the handles. Plenty of tarnish and some mild discoloration inside, but no pitting. The bucket is still watertight. Marked on the base with the club name along with Gorham marks and a date stamp for the year 1903.
Measures 9" tall by about 9” wide across the handles
