A lovely antique Victorian era silver plated cup, covered in beautiful engraving with figural rifles at the base, awarded for a military shooting competition. The engraving reads:
No. 1 Coy.
Class Firing 1896
1st Prize, 3rd Class
Presented by
Capt. H. A. Bate
won by
Pt. M. Bowen
In amazing condition, no dents or damage whatsoever, just a slight out of roundness to the base. The engraving is still crisp and easily read, it has moderate tarnish, but should polish up very nicely if desired with nowear to the silver plating that I can see. Made by Simpson Hall and Miller.
Measures approximately 8” tall
