A lovely and rare antique circa 1894 English burgundy or purpleish-red blown glass match striker with sterling silver top. Excellent antique condition, just some small signs of age and use. Sterling silver rim is fully hallmarked for Sterling silver assayed in London in the year 1894. There is one issue to note: when you hold the striker up to the light to look through it you can see two large drip marks of the glue that is holding the sterling silver rim to the glass, these are not visible when it is simply sitting on a shelf or being displayed. Because of the reflection in the glass I couldn't get a photo of this, it's something that's only visible when holding it up to a window or light source and looking through the glass striker.
