A lovely little antique circa 1890s copper splayed or Windsor pan, from the Cafe Martin located in the Hotel Martin in Greenwich Village in New York City! The Hotel Martin opened in 1883, the lease was sold in 1902 and the name was changed to the Hotel Lafayette, dating this pan to the late 1800s. The final image in the listing is an old advertisement I came across while researching this piece, it is provided for historical purposes only and is not included with the pan.
In good but not excellent condition for its age, it has an old repair near the handle and a lot of small bumps, marks and signs from decades of use in a commercial environment. It has a bit of a wobble on a perfectly flat surface, but if stable on a gas stove grate. This pan has been professionally restored, polished and re-tinned and is ready for use in your kitchen!
Measures approximately 9.5” across the top by 2” deep, 18” long including the handle. 1.9-2mm thick at the rim, with a weight of 2 pounds 15 ounces.
