An absolutely stunning antique circa late 1800s English oak and silver plate 6 slice rotating toast rack, featuring an oakwood & silver plate base along with a rotating silver plated top and handle. In fantastic condition for its age, no dents or major damage to the silver, just small signs of use and age, and a bit of wear to the high points of the silver. The wood has a beautiful antique patina, small scratches and signs of use/polishing, but no loose pieces or major cracks/damage. A beautiful piece in rare form!
Engraved on one end with an EduB monogram, marked on the other end with a Diamond Registration Mark dating the piece to c1870. Marked on the base as made by Alfred Browett of Birmingham.
This is a larger rack that could actually handle modern bread, to the top of the handle it measures 8.5 inches tall, a bit over 4 inches tall to the top of the highest bar, by 5.5 inches wide across the base.
