A beautiful antique circa 1815 sterling silver goblet with gilt interior engraved as a sheep trophy! There is a beautifully hand-engraved sheep on one side, and text on the other that reads:
“For the best two years old south down ram” and text engraved around the foot that reads "Petersfield Agricultural Society 181"
In excellent condition, no dents or damage, just a couple shallow dimples visible only when looking closely and small signs of use and age. It has polished up beautifully! The cup is marked with full English hallmarks for sterling silver assayed in London in the year 1815.
Measures approximately 5.5” tall, weighs 7.9 ozt.
