A lovely antique circa 1870-80s silver plated bell shaped three-piece champagne cooler with brass handle, made to advertise Bell of Moscow brand champagne! In amazing condition for its age, all three pieces are still present, without any big dents or damage, just small surface marks and signs of use/age. The name of the champagne is on one side of the bucket, and the other side is beautifully engraved with the Romanov house royal crest. The three pieces are designed to keep melting ice water off the bottle and off your tablecloth: you insert the central cylinder, then fill the bucket with ice around the cylinder, put the top cap over the cylinder and body of the bucket to insulate the ice and keep it from melting as quickly, while the interior cylinder keeps the melting ice water off your bottle. It’s quite a spectacular piece, and the first one I’ve ever come across that is complete with all three pieces! Made by Simpson, Hall & Miller.
