An incredible piece of British history, a beautiful antique circa mid-late 1800s english copper roasting pan with hinged handles and tin lining. Engraved "Chequers Court" on the front side. Chequers (Chequers Court) is a grand country home originally built for William Hawtrey, High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1566, Chequers Court has been the official country residence of the British prime minister since 1921.

In fantastic condition for its age, no big dents or damage, just lots of small marks, bumps and signs of use you would expect from a piece of kitchenware that is approximately 150 years old. It sits very flat in our oven, but due to age and use it may have a slight rock when sitting on a perfectly flat surface like a glass stove top. The handles are still firmly attached. The tin lining is in excellent condition and ready for use!

This impressively sized piece measures approximately 22.5 inches long by 17.5 inches wide by 5 inches deep, and weighs a bit over 17 pounds empty! The final image is an old cigarette card from the New York Public library collection that I came across while researching this grand home, it’s provided for historical context only and does not come with your purchase of the pan.
