Japanese Enamel Milk Pan

A beautifully simple white enamel milk pan with wood handle, made by a factory in Japan that has been making these enamel cooking implements for over 100 years. With a poor spout on either end, this is the perfect little pan to melt milk and cream, cheese, butter, etc. measures approximately 5 inches across the top, by 10.5 inches long along the handle.

Because of the wooden handle, we recommend that this is a hand wash only piece. One or two trips through the dishwasher won’t ruin it, but it will take a toll on the wooden handle. If it does accidentally end up in the dishwasher, the wooden handle will emerge very dry and should immediately be seasoned with the type of wood cream or wax you would use on a butcher block or wooden cooking implement.

About enamel: Enamelware is made by covering the surface of metal with a glassy film and baking it at high temperatures. As a result, enameled products have excellent durability, heat resistance, and heat retention properties. The glassy surface is also resistant to odors and stains.
