A beautiful antique circa late 1800s to early 1900s heavy silver plated ice bucket from the railroad president's private train car, Nomad, of the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad. A detailed history of the train car, considered the epitome of elegance at the time, can be found here: https://www.fortlewis.edu/finding_aids/inventory/RGSNomad.htm Over the years we've come across a few serving pieces from this railroad car, but this is the first piece of barware we've seen! Made by Reed and Barton, who also made all of the silver for the railroad itself, the bucket is marked "NOMAD" on the base. In excellent condition for its age, no dents or damage, and it has polished up beautifully with some small spots and utensil marks inside the bucket. Measures approximately 5 inches tall by 5.25 inches wide across the opening.
