Over the next week we will be listing the last of our CGT copper collection, five little pots ranging from 12 to 20 cm, this is the 16cm.
A stunning and rare antique circa 1920s heavy copper saute pan with tin lining and a riveted iron handle, by Dehillerin of Paris for a CGT or Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (aka French Line) ship, the SS Île de France!
This is a beautiful handcrafted piece, made to last generations. There are lots of marks and bumps to the outside, as to be expected from a piece that was used in a commercial environment for many decades. The iron handle is sturdy and well-connected. The pan has been polished and re-tinned in our studio and is ready for use!
Measures approximately 6.25 inches wide by 7.25 inches deep by 12 inches long along the handle. This is a beautiful, commercial quality piece with 2+mm walls. Weighs just a bit under 5.5 pounds. Marked "DeFrance" on one side and a worn "Dehillerin" mark can be found underneath the handle.
