An antique c. 1934 heavy silver plate champagne cooler/bucket from The Plaza Hotel in New York City with handle and attached underplate! This piece is in excellent condition for its age, no dents or damage but there are lots of the little bumps and marks that you would expect from old hotel silver. Minor tarnish, some silver loss along the raised edges and under plate but it should polish up a bit more than shown if desired. The inside shows quite a bit of tarnish and discoloration from standing water, some wear through to the copper underneath. The iconic Plaza logo is marked on both sides, marked underneath as made by Gorham for The Plaza in 1934. This bucket is big enough for even a magnum sized bottle of champagne! Measures approximately 15 inches tall with handle up by 11 inches wide at the base, the opening is 9 inches wide.
