An antique circa late-1800s to early-1900s French hammered copper sauté pan and lid. Weighing in at more than 3.5 pounds, this super-thick, super-sturdy piece was definitely built to last. The craftsmanship is superb! This professional-grade pan has mild to moderate tarnish to the tin lining, but it is still perfectly usable with only slight wear to the lining along the lid edge.
The pan is marked “cuivrerie LEGRY STANDARD” on one side and JBK with an armorial on the other. M. Legry owned a shop which supplied hotel and restaurants with all of their culinary needs, much like the shops of Gaillard and Jacquotot. The shop was located at 2 Rue Micromensil in Paris.
In excellent condition, small surface marks that you would expect from 100+ year old copper cookware, but no damage or structural issues. Measures 5.5" in diameter, slightly under 3.5" tall.
