1920s Silver & Glass Match Striker from The Ritz Carlton Hotel

A wonderful vintage circa 1920s heavy silver plated and ribbed glass match striker from the Ritz-Carlton hotel! This came out of an NYC estate with a number of old Manhattan hotel pieces, so it is probably from the old Ritz Carlton in New York City. The New York hotel opened in 1911; it was the first Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the U.S. It was demolished in the 1950s.

In excellent condition for its age, no dents or damage to the silver and the glass striker is in amazing condition. The Ritz-Carlton crest on the top side is a little bit rubbed, but the markings underneath are crisp. It has polished up beautifully!

Measures approximately 6.5” in diameter by a bit over 3" tall.

The final image is an old postcard of the original Ritz Carlton building in New York City, it’s provided for historical context only and is not included with the striker.
