A massive vintage circa 1920s original porcelain enamel over steel New York City Broadway subway sign! The Brooklyn–Manhattan Transit Corporation (BMT) was an urban transit holding company, based in Brooklyn, and incorporated in 1923. The system was sold to the city in 1940. In excellent condition, no damage or signs of old repairs, just small chips mostly around the perimeter of the enamel. The original colors are still bright and without fading. Shows just enough age to let you know it’s a vintage original, without being damaged as to be unreadable or missing large patches of enamel. A fantastic piece of New York City history!

Measures 19” tall by 44” wide.
