A stunning antique circa 1881 solid sterling silver compote made by Tiffany & Co., awarded at the New York Dog Show. The engraving on the front reads:

The New York Dog Show was started in the 1870s by a group of hunting & sporting dog enthusiasts who met at the Westminster Hotel in manhattan. The New York Dog Show went on to become known as the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, arguably the most famous dog show in the world. This cup is a fabulous piece of dog show history, awarded to the best fox terrier in the 1881 New York dog show!

In excellent condition for its nearly 140 years of age. No dents or damage, no signs of all repairs, just some very tiny marks and signs of use only visible when looking closely. The silver has polished up perfectly! Marked underneath “Tiffany & Co” and “Sterling Silver”.

Measures 7.5 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall, weighs approximately 440.7 grams.
